FAQs

What is a "nervous system reset," exactly?

It's the process of helping your body shift out of chronic fight, flight, freeze, or shutdown states and back into a baseline where you can actually rest, think clearly, and respond to life instead of just reacting to it. We work with the body first (not just the mind) because a dysregulated nervous system can't be talked out of survival mode. It has to be guided out.

How is this different from therapy?

Therapy often focuses on understanding why: processing the story, the history, the meaning. This work focuses on how your body is currently responding and building its capacity to regulate in real time. Many clients do both, and they complement each other well. This isn't a replacement for mental health treatment, and if I think you'd benefit from therapy alongside or instead of this work, I'll let you know.

Who is this for?

People who feel "stuck" in stress mode — chronic overwhelm, anxiety that doesn't match the moment, exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix, trouble relaxing, or a pattern of shutting down/numbing out.

Do I need a diagnosis or "bad enough" symptoms to start?

No. Most students aren't in crisis. They're high-functioning and exhausted by it. You don't need a label to justify wanting to feel less wired, less tired, or less braced for the next thing.
